T. J. Duckett was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan and was a prep All-American at Loy Norrix High School. As a senior he was named Parade magazine and Rivalnet National Player of the Year. In high school Duckett not only excelled as a quarterback, running back and linebacker in football, but was also a three-time Class-A shot put state champion. Duckett signed with the Michigan State Spartans and was the lead running back from 1999 – 2001. At the completion of his career, he had totaled 3,379 rushing yards, finishing fifth best in school history, and his 29 touchdowns were sixth best. Duckett was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons 18th overall in the first round of the 1992 NFL draft. Duckett played with four NFL teams in a career that spanned seven seasons. His NFL totals include 2,814 rushing yards and 44 Touchdowns. T. J. Duckett was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.
