Ken Holland

Detroit Red Wings

During his career in the front office of the Detroit Red Wings, including his tenure as Executive vice president and general manager from 1997 to 2019, the team won four Stanley Cup championships. Under his leadership as GM, the Red Wings won 10 division titles, the regular season conference title five times, the President’s Trophy four times and more regular season and playoff games than any other NHL franchise. The Red Wings won enough to record 100 points 13 times in 17 seasons.

A goaltender in the Red Wings system, Holland was hired as a scout by the team when his playing career ended. He later served as scouting director, responsible for the scouting of multiple legendary and Hall of Fame draft picks, and assistant general manager. After leaving the Red Wings, he spent five seasons as GM of the Edmonton Oilers, when they appeared in the Stanley Cup Final.

An inductee into the Hockey Hall of Fame, Holland, a British Columbia native, held managerial roles with Team Canada, including general manager for the 2006 World Championships.
