Jon Jansen was born in Clawson, Michigan and lettered in football, baseball, and basketball at Clawson High School. At the University of Michigan, he was named a two-time First-Team Big Ten selection helping to lead the Wolverines to the 1997 National Championship. At the time of his graduation, Janson held the U of M record of 50 consecutive starts. Jansen was a second-round selection in the 1999 NFL draft by the Washington Redskins and was a mainstay on the Redskins line for most of the next 10 years. He signed with the Detroit Lions in 2009 for the final season of his career. Consistency was his calling card as he started 125 of the 137 games in his NFL career. Jon Jansen was inducted into Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2017.
