Joe DeLamielleure was born in Detroit, Michigan and attended Center Line St. Clement High School. He went on to Michigan State where he became an All-American offensive lineman. He was selected by the Buffalo Bills as the number 26 overall pick in the 1973 NFL draft. He was a key member on the Bills offensive line that broke records for rushing yards in both a game and for the season. He was named to six Pro-Bowl games and was named to the All-Pro team in those same six seasons while twice being named the Offensive Lineman of the Year. In 1980 he was traded to the Cleveland Browns where he continued his blocking dominance. He was the first offensive lineman to have blocked for a 2,000-yard rusher and a 4,000-yard passer. Joe DeLamielleure was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2003 and was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2004.
