Fred Arbanas was born in Detroit, Michigan and went on to Michigan State where he played well enough to be drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the seventh round of the 1961 NFL draft. During his nine-season AFL career, the Chiefs won three AFL Championships, appeared in Super Bowl I and won Super Bowl IV. He was a member of the AFL All-Time team, five-time AFL All-Star and a six-time All-AFL selection. Fred Arbanas is a member of the Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Fame, the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, and was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2012. He passed away on April 16, 2021 at 82 years of age.
