Detroit Lions Player (1959 – 1972)

Dick LeBeau was born in London, Ohio and after high school attended the Ohio State University where as a two-way player he helped the Buckeyes win the 1957 National Championship. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns but was picked up by the Detroit Lions where he played in the defensive backfield for the next 13 seasons. During that time, he intercepted 62 passes, seventh all-time in NFL history. He was a three-time Pro Bowl participant. After his playing days he became an assistant coach for numerous teams working his way to defensive coordinator. He became the head coach for the Cincinnati Bengals from 2000 to 2002 and has since worked as an assistant coach again. He coached in two Super Bowls with the Pittsburgh Steelers (XL, XLIII). Dick LeBeau was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010 and was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2011.
