James David (Dave) Hill

Dave Hill was born in Jackson, Michigan and attended the University of Detroit, where he was a member of the golf team. He turned professional in 1958 and would go on to win 13 PGA tour events during his career and was a member of three Ryder Cup teams. His best year was in 1969 when he won three tour events and won the Vardon Trophy for the lowest scoring average. Hill joined the Senior tour in 1987 and won six additional events, in total, he won 25 events. Dave Hill was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 1996. Dave Hill along with his brother Mike are one of only two pairs of brothers in the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame. He passed away on September 27, 2011 at 74 years of age.
