Cullen Finnerty

Cullen Finnerty was born in Brighton, Michigan and had an outstanding career as a quarterback at Brighton High School earning all-league, all-county, and all-state awards. After redshirting during his freshman season at the University of Toledo, Cullen transferred to Grand Valley State University (GVSU), where he excelled. During his four years at GVSU, Finnerty led the Lakers to three Division II National Championships in 2003, 2005 and 2006. At the time of his graduation, Cullen had achieved a 51 – 4 record as a starting quarterback and held the record for most wins at any level of college football. After going undrafted in the 2007 NFL draft, Cullen signed as an undrafted free agent with the Baltimore Ravens and finally with the Denver Broncos. Cullen Finnerty was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2018. He passed away on May 27, 2013 at 30 years of age.
