Chris Osgood was born in Peace River, Alberta, Canada and was drafted 54th overall in the 1991 NHL Entry draft by the Detroit Red Wings making his debut with the Red Wings during the 1993 – 1994 season. In his first stint with Red Wings through the 2001 season, Osgood was a member of two Stanley Cup championships (1997, 1998). Osgood was picked up in 2001 as a free agent by the New York Islanders, then the St. Louis Blues before returning to the Red Wings in 2005, remaining for the rest of his NHL career. Osgood won another Stanley Cup championship in 2008. Osgood ended his career with 401 wins (317 of which came with the Red Wings) he appeared in 2 NHL All-Star games, was 4th all-time in win percentage. Osgood is the second goaltender to score a goal by shooting it into the opponent's goal. Chris Osgood was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2016.
