Robert (Bob) Mann

Bob Mann was born in New Bern, North Carolina and attended the University of Michigan where he set Big Ten Conference records in receiving yards in both his junior (1946) and senior (1947) seasons. Mann helped the 1947 Wolverine squad to an undefeated season. Mann was signed by the Detroit Lions in 1948 and set a then NFL record for receiving yards in 1949. In 1950 Mann, signed with the Green Bay Packers where he finished out his career in 1954. After his career was over, Mann obtained his Law degree in 1970 and was a defense lawyer in the City of Detroit. Bob Mann was inducted into the Green Bay Packer Hall of fame in 1988 and the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2016. He passed away on October 21, 2006 at age 82 years of age.
