Anthony Carter was born in Riviera Beach, Florida and attended the University of Michigan where he enjoyed a legendary career. He was named a three-time All-American, a three-time Big Ten selection, two-time team MVP, and Big Ten Conference MVP his senior season. At the time he graduated from college he held nearly every Michigan receiving and return record. He finished fourth in the Heisman voting in his senior year. After graduation, Carter signed to play with the Michigan Panthers of the United States Football League (USFL) a rival league to the NFL, helping the Panthers win the first USFL championship. He spent three season in the USFL before jumping to the NFL for the remainder of his 14-year career. Carter spent nine season with the Minnesota Vikings where he was named to the Pro-Bowl three times, before finishing out his career with the Detroit Lions. Anthony Carter was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2001, the University of Michigan Athletic Hall of Honor in 2002 and was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2000.
