Rasheed Wallace
Traded to the Detroit Pistons in 2004, Rasheed Wallace’s scoring and rebounding prowess proved to be the missing piece needed for the Pistons’ surprise victory in a “Five Game Sweep” over the Lakers in the 2004 NBA Finals. Wallace cemented himself as part of a dominant core that would return to the Finals the following year and make four consecutive Eastern Conference Finals appearances.
Over six seasons with the Pistons, Wallace was a two-time NBA All-Star. His best statistical season with the Pistons was 2005-2006, when he averaged 15 points and nearly 7 rebounds per game. He became a fan favorite, beyond his colorful on-court personality, after buying his teammates wrestling-style championship belts as they worked to defend their NBA title in the 2004-2005 season.
After his playing career, Wallace was a member of the Pistons coaching staff in the 2013-2014 season. He also played for the Washington Wizards, Portland Trail Blazers, Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics.
