Hydroplane and Race Car Driver
Tom D’Eath from Fair Haven, MI is both a hydroplane and race car driver. He won three American Power Boat Association Gold Cups and three Prince Edward Canadian Gold Cups and at the time of his retirement was the only three-time winner of both. He has won National Championships in virtually every class on hydroplane racing. D’Eath also drove in the race car circuit by driving USAC Formula Vees from 1977 to 1981 and midget cars from 1982 to 1991. Tom D’Eath was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2000 and was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2012.
