Milt Pappas was born in Detroit, Michigan and attended Cooley High School where he was scouted by several teams before signing with the Baltimore Orioles. He quickly became the ace of the Orioles pitching staff and started a streak of 11 consecutive season with double-digit victories. His 16-year MLB career also included stops with the Reds, Braves and Cubs. He pitched a no-hitter on September 2, 1972, was a three-time All-Star, and won 209 games in his career. Milt Pappas is a member of the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame and was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 2012. He passed away on April 19, 2016 at 76 years of age.
