Eddie Lubanski was born in Detroit, Michigan. Lubanski was a professional bowler whose competitive career spanned over four decades. He was the Bowler of the Year in 1959 and later served as bowling instructor and President of the Professional Bowlers Association. Lubanski had the highest lifetime average of 204 for 25 years. In a televised event in 1959, Lubanski bowled two consecutive 300 games and in 1960, he teamed up with another bowler and together they established a world record doubles total of 1582. Eddie Lubanski was inducted into the American Bowling Congress Hall of Fame, the Polish Sports Hall of Fame and the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 1992. He passed away on November 8, 2010 at 81 years of age.
